BitchTapes: Surf's Up

bitchtapes mixtapes

All the girls are surfin’ the wave. This is a mixtape of current surf rock songs from female-fronted bands. Some of these songs are brand-new for the summer, including Shannon and the Clams’ single “Corvette” (off their album Gone By Dawn, which comes out in September) and La Luz’s “Don’t Want to Be Anywhere” (off of Weirdo Shrine, which comes out in August). Plus: The mix ends with one throwback—a 50-year-old Cambodian song I heard on this mix that was too good not to include.

Surf's Up from BitchTapes on 8tracks Radio.

An addition?

I'd add on "Big Wave" by Jenny and Johnny--the subject matter is actually a bit depressing, but it still has that awesome surf-rock melody and vibe.
