Here's all the feminist news on our radar today:

• California prison officials finally recognized the hunger strike inmates are undertaking across the state—they acknolwedge that inmates in two-thirds of the state"s prisons are on strike. [LA Times] 

• Testimony is still going on regarding the newest revision of the Texas anti-abortion bill in Rick Perry's second special session. One Texas resident decided she had enough of her state's legislators and used her testimony time to call them out on their misogyny loud and clear. [Jezebel]

• DOMA may be dead in 13 states, but other parts of the country are still struggling for marriage equality--like Indiana, where same-sex marriage is officially considered a felony. [The New Civil Rights Movement]

• Chile's absolute ban on abortion is forcing an 11-year-old victim of repeated rape to carry through with a pregnancy that would put her and the potential life in danger.  [Bust]

• Independent studio Braveart Films has raised nearly $47,000 towards shooting an adaptation of the young adult novel Carrie Pilby. This all-woman team has only two days left to reach its goal of $51,650, so go check out the Kickstarter! [Kickstarter]

• Speaking of Kickstarters, GoldieBlox was a success. The new engineering toy for girls has a fierce commercial out and is set to hit the shelves of stores like Toys R Us soon. [TOR]

In much less-reported news, trans women in California prisons experience gross sexual misconduct and abuse by prison staff.

CeCe McDonald, a trans woman incarcerated in Minnesota, recently asked supporters to write letters on behalf of Jenni Gann, a trans woman incarcerated in California's (male) Kern Valley State Prison. As a transgender woman, Jenni has repeatedly experienced sexual harassment during cross-gender strip searches. This has included ridiculing her anatomy, threating her, and exposing her to male inmates.
