The promo flyer for the new anthology features a panel from Cathy G. Johnson's comic "A Happy Death."
As You Were is a collection of punk comics that curator Mitch Clem pulls together and publishes through Silver Sprocket, a DIY press run out of a San Fransisco basement. The anthology released its first issue last spring, describing the debut issue as "the perfect addition to any punkhouse bathroom!" That's definitely true, but the comics are definitely better as relevant reading material than emergency toilet paper. The zine just released their third issue, the theme of which is "Big, Big Changes." This issue marks a change itself, as it jumped in quality to become a 112-page anthology with a real spine. Check out the full list of the 28 contributors and order a copy of the new issue here.
We're featuring a highlight from the new issue: an original comic by Liz Suburbia. Enjoy!
Artist Liz Suburbia lives in Nevada with two dogs and a handsome guy. Pretty much all of her comics are about dogs and punks.
