I was born and raised in the hills of Western Pennsylvania, where I grew up surrounded by a bunch of churches, bars, factories, and an endearing crowd of Catholic rednecks. I escaped quickly to Boston, MA, where I lived off of student loans and microwaveable meals for four years. Upon the completion of my B.S. and the realization that I could no longer afford to live in Boston without government funding (or a certain amount of east coast ambition that would land me in a high-paying job), I moved to sunny Portland, OR, where I've been for the past 2 years working in fields varying from animation to unemployment to World's Greatest Feminist Magazine.
Hunx and His Punx, Dolly Parton, the Slits, the Cramps
Lots of Robert Altman movies (I'm going through my Shelley Duvall phase.)
"Cruddy" by Linda Barry, "Asassination Vacation" by Sarah Vowell, and "An Essay on Liberation" by Herbert Marcuse
