Kat Kimberley grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii. She spent her days skipping classes, eating mangoes, and sitting on sunny beaches where she picked up words like “da kine” and “oof.” Next Kat bounced around the world as a human tumble weed doing social justice organizing work. Along the way she managed to join forces with some phenomenal nonprofit organizations. Eventually these collaborations along with her work as a grassroots organizers and environmental justice advocate, led her to complete a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia. After living out of a suitcase for the majority of her adult life, Kat is overjoyed to call Portland home and is in the process of putting down deep roots-- her most immediate goals are to build a chicken coop, sample local microbrews, and start a book club.
