Who I Am:

An artist, musician, and social critic whose activism most often takes the form of reading and writing. Perennially obsessed with the big questions of justice and meaning in transnational times, I'm currently working on a project provisionally entitled "The role of popular journalism in the Canadian imaginary: The queer and the immigrant as symbolic threats to a changing public sphere." I love espresso, Italian reds, my fiancee, novels where queer characters' plot lines don't revolve around the "trauma" of being queer, and the landscape of northern Ontario.

What I'm Listening To:

Neko Case, Matt Good, Uh Huh Her, Janelle Monae, Verve Remixed, Bonobo, Andreya Triana, Kim Clarke, Sound of Lions

What I'm Watching:

Nurse Jackie, True Blood, Firefly, Dollhouse, Glee, Fringe

What I'm Reading:

In the Skin of a Lion (Michael Ondaatje), Belle Moral (Ann-Marie MacDonald), Feminism Without Borders (Chandra Talpade Mohanty), Terrorist Assemblages: Homonationalism in Queer Times (Jasbir Puar), Briarpatch Magazine
